다양한 요리를 모티브로 한 입체 조형 작품은 펠트, 천, 구슬, 자수실 등을 주요 재료로 제작된다. 그 제작 과정은 다음과 같다.
형지 작성 및 재단
먼저, 카피 용지 등을 사용하여 형지를 제작하고, 이를 기반으로 펠트를 재단한다.
코어 제작
복잡한 요리의 형태를 표현하기 위해, 기본적인 입방체나 직육면체 형태의 코어를 펠트로 봉합하여 만들고, 내부에 솜을 채워 형태를 유지한다.
디테일 작업
코어 위에 다양한 장식을 추가하여 원본 요리의 세부 요소를 재현한다. 입체 조형은 빛과 그림자를 활용하여 복잡한 색감을 표현할 수 있으며, 같은 색상의 펠트라도 조명에 따라 다른 색으로 보이게 되어 색상의 제한을 극복하는 데 도움이 된다.
소재와 표현의 특징
펠트는 색상 선택에 제한이 있지만, 입체적인 구조를 통해 이러한 한계를 극복할 수 있다. 전문학교 시절, 동일한 색상을 사용하더라도 화면의 위치마다 다르게 표현하는 법을 배웠으며, 이러한 경험이 입체 조형에서도 유용하게 적용되었다.

현재까지 100점이 넘는 프랑스 요리를 모티브로 한 작품이 제작되었으며, 이를 모두 나열하면 프렌치 풀 코스가 완성된다. 작품 제작 과정에서 지속적인 개선이 이루어지고 있는데, 예를 들어, 요리를 올린 접시의 경우, 기존에는 마분지에 천을 붙였으나 휘거나 왜곡되는 문제가 있었다. 이를 개선하기 위해 플라스틱 접시에 천을 씌우는 방식으로 변경하여 품질을 높였다.
이러한 과정을 통해, 다양한 요리를 모티브로 한 입체 조형 작품이 완성된다.
