갤러리 콜론비는 2016년 창립 이후 회화, 조각, 공예, 디지털, 패션 등 다양한 장르의 전시와 예술 콘텐츠를 기획·제작하며, 동시대 예술의 실험성과 감수성을 공유해 왔습니다.
역동적이고 다양한 문화가 공존하는 압구정 로데오에 위치한 콜론비는 단순한 전시 공간을 넘어, 예술가의 창작을 지원하고 관람자와 일상 속에서 감각적으로 소통할 수 있는 열린 예술 플랫폼으로서의 역할을 수행합니다. 또한 2022년부터 출판사를 설립하여 예술 관련 도서들을 출판하고 있습니다.

콜론비의 설립 목적은 예술의 경계를 허물고, 다양한 삶의 이야기와 감각을 예술의 언어로 풀어내는 장을 마련하는 것입니다. 예술가뿐만 아니라 일반 시민, 고령층, 청년, 외국인 등 다양한 사회 구성원들이 창작과 감상의 경계를 넘나들 수 있도록 유도하며, 예술이 삶의 활력과 치유로 확장될 수 있다는 믿음을 실천하고자 합니다.

운영 철학은 “예술은 끊임없이 변화하는 삶의 또 다른 언어이며, 모든 사람은 그 언어의 화자가 될 수 있다”는 관점에서 출발합니다. 콜론비의 시간은 작가의 고행과 사유, 반복되는 실험의 흔적들이 켜켜이 쌓여 만들어진 감각의 축적이며, 그러한 예술적 태도를 지역사회와 공유하는 것이 가장 본질적인 공공성과 연결된다고 믿고 있습니다.

Since its founding in 2016, Gallery ColonB has been a multidisciplinary cultural and artistic space that curates and produces exhibitions and content across a wide range of genres—including painting, sculpture, craft, digital media, and fashion—sharing the experimental spirit and sensitivity of contemporary art.
Located in Apgujeong Rodeo(Gangnam-gu, Seoul), a vibrant district where diverse cultures coexist, ColonB goes beyond the role of a traditional exhibition space. It functions as an open art platform that supports artists in their creative work and facilitates sensory communication with the public in everyday life. In addition, since 2022, the gallery has established its own publishing house and has been releasing a series of art-related publications.

The gallery was founded with the purpose of dismantling boundaries in art and creating a space where diverse life stories and sensibilities can be expressed through the language of art. ColonB encourages not only artists but also citizens, seniors, young people, and foreigners to freely move between the realms of creation and appreciation, upholding the belief that art can serve as a source of vitality and healing in life.

Its guiding philosophy is based on the perspective that “art is another language of life, constantly evolving—and everyone can be a speaker of that language.” The time accumulated at ColonB represents the traces of artistic hardship, contemplation, and repeated experimentation. The gallery believes that sharing this artistic attitude with the local community is intrinsically linked to the true meaning of public engagement.
